How does a Centera handle file corruption?
Does the Centera have any error detection with corrupt files or is it handled like any other storage device, have a tape backup?
Thanks

Hi Richard,
Centera has a built in background process called "MD5Scrubber" which continoulsy scans all the filesystem's and calculates for every fragement, the MD5 checksum. If an inconsistency is found between the MD5 of a fragment and the MD5 as contained in the filename, then the fragment is submitted for review, where a copy of fragment is generated from the other good copy.

Hi Manjunath,
Replying to older thread but would like to know:
How can I get MD5 for files in centera, can it be retrieved through java api?
I'm new to this concept of MD5 if you could share few important tips that would be great.
Regards
Prashant
