AX4-5 and Windows 2008 issue with Disk Manager showing multiple disks.

I set up a Storage Group with 1 LUN for a new Windows 2008 Server. I have the same setup for a Windows 2003 server and it works fine.

When I open the Disk Manager, it says "You must initialize a disk before Logical Disk Manager can access it.
Select Disk 1, Disk 2, Disk 3, Disk 4.

The problem is that there is only 1 Disk and it's showing that there are 4 disks.

I do have 4 iSCSI connections to the AX4, so it seems to be showing the same disk per connection, but this is the same configuration I have for the 2003 box. Why is it showing that I have 4 Disks when there shold only be 1 and how do I fix it?

It also seems to set the disk to read-only when I reboot it.

Do you have power path on both nodes?

Yes, but it seems the PowerPath on the 2008 box is not recognizing the storage array, adpters and disks. When I open it, there are no listings under them, just blank. I can write to the disk and the Navisphere Utility can see the AX4 and the ISCSI all seems fine. I think it's related to PowerPath , so I'll look into that for a bit.

This is a Windows Server 2008 Web Edition install. Well, it appears that Windows Server 2008 Web Edition does not support MPIO. Although I could install it for Windows 2003 Web Edition. That sucks! Options?

Looks like I'll be upgrading to Windows Standard Edition with Support for MPIO.

set COMMON PATH setting to 1 in CONNECTION tab under NAVISPHERE. Sometimes we have to set common path settings manually to register the paths to host HBAs.

I hope this can solve your problem.
