AX4-5 problem after recovery FLARE OS

Hello everyone!

AX4-5 stopped loading.
Not so long ago the disks with FLARE OS (0,1,2,3) crashed. In the terminal, the following was executed:
- Entering engineering mode;
- Install Images to Restore Factory Configuration;
- Install Images to Recover OS.
After the restoration, IP for SP A and SP B were configured, AX4-5 returned to normal boot mode, but I lost the ability to control via http://ip_address/start.html, when I open the page I get "Navi Error. Access Denied". But I can open and manage on the pages http://ip_address/setup.html and http://ip_address/debug.html

It seems to me that restoring the original state from the image in the repository removed the existing packages and licenses, for this reason I cannot manage the AX4 -5 fully through the http.

How can I return the AX4-5 to its pre-failure state?

Unfortunately, I do not have a valid support contract in DELL.

Device: AX4-5
Version: 02.23.050.5.709
Command result NaviSECCli ... ndu -list: (two software package) "FLARE-Operating-Environment" and "DualSP"
Workstation: Windows 7 x86, Java 7, IE 8

Thank you

Hello OneMor,

You don’t happen to have any logs from before the system stopped working and after you reloaded the OS?  When you reloaded the OS did you follow the reimage guide?

Hello DELL-Sam L,

There are no logs before the failure, there are logs after recovery. I have not used the official FLARE OS recovery guide, I do not have a DELL support contract.
I have used these two guides and I understand that they are not official:

and

Hello OneMor,

I would say that since you didn’t use the AX 4-5 reimage steps that the flare was not loaded correctly.  With this system being as old as it is opening a support case would not work as the system is EOL. With the drives failing & not knowing why they crashed, it is hard to say what is needed to resolve without looking into the logs.  But not having any logs before the reimage we can’t see what was going on.

Hello, DELL-Sam L

Can I see instructions for correct FLARE OS recovery?
Are the current logs not helpful in solving the problem?

Hello OneMor,

I have looked and the reimage process steps have been removed.  Also without having a set of logs from before it is extremely difficult to confirm the reimage is correct & license are correctly applied.

Hello DELL-Sam L,

Can I get instructions on how to properly repair FLARE OS? Perhaps I need a again recovery? With reliable instructions, I can try to revive the AX4-5.

Hello OneMor,

So the reimage process steps are for support & partners only.  Now with that being said, for your issue there is an additional step that needs to be done when you reimage your SP’s.  The AX series also requires another step to make it manageable again, namely, the Navisphere Manager Enabler or the Navisphere Express Enabler must be loaded (since you have a choice of management being used depending on if you are using the Expansion option) so it must be uninstalled as part of the re-initialization process. The enabler must be installed by means of Off-array Navisphere Manager.

Hello DELL-Sam L,

Where can I download Navisphere Manager Enabler?
How can I install the activator using Off-array Navisphere?
Can I get detailed instructions? Can I contact you by email?

Hello OneMor,

Navisphere Manager Enabler is a restricted download to tech support and partners.  It is normally included with the system is purchased.  Since the download is restricted & I can’t provide you a link to it.

Here is the link to Off-array Navisphere and also a link on how to set it up.

I understand that you are trying to get this working, however this is an install and if the system was in warranty is a paid for service.  With this system being as old as it is there are limited documents that are available as most documents have been purged.

Hello DELL-Sam L,

It's sad that my system can't be restored. I will be forced to send my array for recycling, this is really sad.

OneMor
