AX4-AIX iSCSI Question
I'm getting mixed messages as to whether AIX is supported on the AX4 iSCSI box. I've heard No, Sure, I think so, and Yes. I'm getting ready to buy an AX4 for Windows and VM usage but really want to also do iSCSI on my AIX boxes. Anyone know?
TIA,
Harold

I'm in pre-sales so I more or less know where to find information regarding sales questions...
Have a look here:
iSCSI Supported Configurations Overview
http://www.emc.com/microsites/clariion-support/pdf/ax45_support_config_overview_iscsi.pdf
It claims: The following operating systems are supported:
◆ AIX 5.2, 5.3, and 6.1
◆ HP-UX 11.11 and 11.23
◆ Linux:
¿ RedHat 4.0 and 5.0
¿ Novell SUSE 9 and 10
◆ Solaris 10 (SPARC and x86)
◆ VMware ESX Server 3 and 3.5
◆ Windows 2000
◆ Windows Server 2003
You may find other useful information on EMC AX4 support site (free access for everyone): www.emc.com/ax4support

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I've seen that and we are going on that as gospel. My problem is that the docs, at one time, also listed AIX as supported for the Celerra iSCSI and then that seemed to disappear and I spent several hours trying to make something work that wouldn't. Being in a local gov't data center it's part of my job description to waste time, but I still try to avoid it when possible.
Thanks again for your response.
