CX300, Controllers (unmanaged)

Question

Hi

I just came across a CX300 where both controllers where listed as unmanaged. When I try to look at events there is a message: "Agent is not running"

After some research I found out that there is a service in running in the SP software that must have failed. I restarted the management server on master controller (from http://IPofSPA/setup) but now the management GUI is empty. No array, hosts or LUNs are visible.

Under domain status I can see the array with spAs IP-adress. Do I need to configure the domain again or even restet all domain info? The data is still accessible and everything seems to be running but I need the GUI up and running again.

If the CX300 is running Flare prior to release 24, you must reboot the SP in order to restart the Agent program running on the SP - if both SP's are unmanaged you will need to reboot both SP's - one at a time unless you have a window where you can reboot both. In later flare versions beginning with release 24, you can restart the Agent service by restarting the Management Server in the setup.

Thanks!I took down the hosts connected to the CX300 and rebooted both controllers. Now the SPs are managed but I still get an error on the standby power supplies. The battery probably needs to be replaced since it´s ~4 years old.Message was edited by: Hawen

Sometimes the older batteries can take a long time to charge - if after 24 hours it's still faulted, then you probably need to have the battery replaced.glenMessage was edited by: kelleg
