CX4-120 incomplete boot
We have a new CX4-120 that doesn't complete the boot process. Last statement is always "INIT 13 - Alternate Reset (2171)"
I assume that it should complete with a login prompt. Is there something that we should check?

That may not be the incomplete boot - but actually a successful boot of the SPs. You don't get any login prompt on the console - that you are watching for.
If this is a new array - you may use the Array Initialization Tool to initialize the array and setup the IP addresses etc for the Storage Processors and then Launch Navisphere management by using a browser pointing to the IP Address of the Storage processor. You may also assign the IP Address with a help of a null modem cable connecting to the serial port and establishing a PPP connection from your computer to the SP - however, using the initialization tool is easy.
However, I am not sure why EMC or EMC authorized service person is not engaged for installation of the same. I'll suggest to contact your local EMC contact for the installation.
Hope this helps,

I agree that it would have been much easier to have EMC set this up for us, but our internal policies do not allow outside visitors into the building. As a result, we do all of our own installations, maintenance, etc.

Hi,
I have a CX4 but I appear to differ, INIT 13 - Alternate Reset (2464) and already run the Unisphere Storage System Initialization, and not find the CX4, therefore i cant view or change the IPs of SPs.
I connect my laptop to LAN port, with the default IPs, and the ping doesn't respond.
you could know why?
thanks
