CX500 shutdown question

Hi all,
i need to power off a clariion CX500 (FLARE 2.26.500.5.010)
My situation is that, one of RaidGroup is in "REBUILDING" state after one more HD has been added to this RG due to more capacity necessity.
Is it possible to shutdown the system while one RG is in rebuilding state without risks for the integrity of the LUNs contained in this RaidGroup??

THANX!!

C.

I would say that the system should not be shut down until the re-striping of the data finishes. I don't know what would happen if you did do that, but I would not risk it to find out.

I've got to go with Ryan on this one. Chances are it would work fine. But...

If this were my system I would not proceed until this completed.

OK,
first of all....thanks for all your answers!!!
however...(saturday in the afternoon)....i have shut down the system @ 78% of rebuild process.
when the clariion is gone back....rebuild process has restarted from 78%
This morning the re-stripe porcess has finished and my LUNs are still here
:))))

*lol* I must admit that I do tend to be conservative with the data entrusted to me.

But if you think you don't get cases from us, check out SR#26826066 when you have a few minutes. As you can see I'm too busy with the DMX right now to even worry about the CLARiiONs.

For those who aren't EMC personnel that can look this up, I can't share the details just yet, but suffice it to say that not every Enginuity code upgrade is as flawless as one would hope.

Oh, it must be nice to be able to focus on just one technology. I miss those days!

That way I don't get confused about what I'm doing - no more minicomputer, no more PCs, no more printers, no more CRT's, no more modems, no more 3330's, etc, etc, etc... :)
