DAE

Question

Would like to move a dae from a cx600 to a cx700.Any idea if this would be a problem?No data involved.

And for a quick answer... As long as you follow the proper process this shouldn't be a problem. We have had to move DAEs in the past between arrays and did not run into any show-stoppers.

But I thinks this direct migration is very danger and maybe result data loss.To use san copy is one good solution.

in short, unbind all the luns and raid groups and host spares on the enclosure and you can move it in flash. no need to change enclosure numbers also i belive.

its not supposed to be done while there is any Raid group on it anyways...

To use san copy is one good solution

not unless he has two different DAEs and wants to move "data" across.
