Datastore naming VMWare / EMC

Question

This might be more a question for VMware forum but trying my luck anyway.
I have renamed a LUN in our EMC CX3-20. VMware does not seem to pick up the new name and it is still showing up the previous name. Does this involve a manual step in VMware?
Everything still seems to work fine though. It just would be nice to have some consistency in naming conventions.

have you tried renaming in ESX using Virtual Infrastructure client, click on Summary tab and right click on the volume name under Datastore and select rename. I am not sure if you can do it with VM's up and running.

The datastore name is indepented of the LUN name. You have to rename it manually.
