When you "destroy" a mirror, you destroy the logical construct called "mirror", you do not destroy the source LUN or the mirror LUN. Remember, that you can not use the mirror LUN for anything after the mirror is detroyed.

Ok, so the remote replica should be unbound then ? Too bad... this means you cannot use Mirrorview to copy data over to the other side and have a standalone copy over there after you brake up the mirror.
