EMCGrab on AIX Host
I have a potential client that is running the Grab utility on his current servers. He was able to run it successfully on several AIX hosts but is having an issue on one server. The message that he sent me is as follows:
"I have one server (AIX 5.1 ML04) that has crashed twice on the same command in the
emcgrab.sh utility. It's got multiple Oracle DBs on this server, so I'd like to get the information to
you. Here's the last few lines from the emcgrab.sh log from the crashing system:
Command : uname -a
Command : uname -L
Command : uname -M
Command : hostname
Command : date
Command : who -b
Command : ps -efl
Command : ps -kf
Command : ps -l
Command : ps aux
Command : genkex
Command : env
Command : mount
Running module - erm
Running module - se
Running module - lvm.AIXVolume Group rootvg
Volume Group mtmvg
Volume Group gisvg
Volume Group devvg
Running module - inq
Running command inq.aix64_51 -no_nots <<<== system crashes here
Any way around this? I've run the emc collection utility on a system at the same OS/ML level and it
runs fine. "
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Mark

if you have symmetrix BCVs attached to this server and if they are in not ready mode, inq can wait forever!
