Error - Updating Template from Remote

Hi,

We are using CX4-120 Storage Array.

We have updated the template from SPB.  It works fine but later, we get the following error message:

Error - Updating Template from Remote

Cannot update template - Template_Name on Event Monitor CX4_SPA

Only an IPv4 Address is allowed in the Email Response's mail server field on an array.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the template, we haven't added any response.

We just wonder whether we need to log in SPA, stop using the template and attach it again ?

I think i have seen this issue before wen using older versions of the template.  What versiona re you using?

When you add a template to one SP, it auto loads it to the other.   Did you run a test from SPA?  does it show up when you expand the SP on the monitor tab?

Dear Kenn,

Is there any way to find out the version of Template ?  In our case, we do have 2 SANs - One is running CX3 and the other is running CX4.

The template does work for SPA.

Are you using the same template for both?

You might be able to get the version info from it by exporting the template out and then opening it with notepad.

I have seen your error many times doing new installations but i always made sure that the email home tests worked and never had an issue with the template after that.

Dear Kenn,

When I export those templates, I get a number of TPL files.

When I open those TPL files with notepad, I get the following information:

EM_VERSION 6.2
LogToSystemLog No
LogToEventLog Yes
Compound Yes
Response EMail

It seems that it doesn't tell which version exactly.

Ya i see that.  I opened an older one i had and the new R30 template that i downloaded from powerlink and they both have the same EM_VERSION 6.2 in it.

So i am not sure how you tell them apart...

There is not one.  you get them all...   At least that is what i have seen in R28, R29, R30 so far...

I see an option to "export all templates", how to export a single/selected template ?

Hi,

I already had this error message.

In older flare versions, they didnt check the syntax of an email address. In my case it was the "from" field.

I usually put something significant for me like "From CX4 etc ..."

Now I have to fill this field with an "email like" address "name@domain.com" ie "From CX4_9999_room1_datacenter1@mycompany.com"

Recently configued the template with flare 4.29.0.5.14, just SN for array accepted for from field.
