Fix domain issue
We moved a CX array to a different network while it was still attached to a master in the old network.
Now, it's not letting us reset the domain master, nor add/remove addresses.
Looking for a way to get around this issue, and select a new domain master in the new network.
> naviseccli -h cx2-spa Domain -list
Node: cx1
IP Address: 10.0.42.102
Name: cx1-spb
Port: 80
Secure Port: 443
IP Address: 10.0.42.101 (Master) <- No longer available
Name: cx1-spa
Port: 80
Secure Port: 443
Node: CX2
IP Address: 10.0.42.103 <- This array, but OLD IP address
Name: cx2-spa
Port: 80
Secure Port: 443
IP Address: 10.0.42.104 <- This array, but OLD IP address
Name: cx2-spb
Port: 80
Secure Port: 443

Hi,
I found the below information:
If the storage system to be reconfigured is the Master of a domain that contains other storage systems, assign a new master and remove the storage system to be reconfigured from its domain as follows:
Change the domain master:
Use Navisphere Manager to connect to one of the other arrays in the domain.
From the Navisphere Manager main menu, select File > Set Up Domain > Select Master. The Configure Domain dialog box appears.
In the Select Master window, highlight the new domain master and click OK
For further information, please refer to the below mentioned link:

Thanks

Thanks, but the array is not letting me make any changes because it cannot reach it's currently assigned master node.
I can't remove the currently assigned master node, nor can I add or reassign a new master node.
I need some kind of way to FORCE the array to be removed from the existing domain even if it can't reach it's currently assigned master.
> naviseccli -h cx2-spa Domain -remove 10.0.42.103 -o
Domain remove operation failed. The Master node is not reachable.
> naviseccli -h cx2-spa Domain -add 10.42.42.103 -o
Domain add operation failed.
Error 10.42.42.103 is already participating in a domain.
> naviseccli -h cx2-spa Domain -setmaster 10.42.42.103 -o
Domain set master operation failed. The new master node is not participating in the current domain

Try logging into the SPa_IP_Address/setup - from there you can destroy the Domain Security - that will remove the array from the Domain and (if I remember correctly) will also remove the usernames/passwords. Then you log back in and create a new single array domain.
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a KB article about this - you might want to try searching the KB's for your issue.

Almost worked, at least it appears as the domain association has been removed. but the array will still not accept the correct ip addresses. Ive tried several times to change the peer address to 10.42 prefix, but it keeps reverting to 10.0 prefix...

Looks like I had to reboot the array in order to get the IP's changed. I think it's working now.

I believe I did mark it as answered already. If I didn't please let me know.
The proposed solution did infact resolve that particular issue.

I guess I don't know how to close it properly then. I used the link on the top of the page to mark it as answered. Is there a different way?
