Getting error while adding new disk drives to the enclosure
Hi,
I am trying to add 4 new hard disk drive to Clarrion CX3-10c DAE. The 4 Disk are 300 GB FC with 10K RPM.
I am using NST to add the disk in the DAE, the drive insertion got detected and the Drive transited successfully, but the disk does not detected. It shows me the warning "Note:- The new disk type does not match with the selected drive type, but it is compatible with this enclosure".
In the navisphere it shows me fault on the storage and in the DAE. It shows the disk under the Enclosure but does not show the details like FC or capacity.
Please suggest...

We need more detailed information in order to be of assistance:
1. What is the Flare version running on the array?
2.What is the part number and model number for the new disks?
3. Are there existing disks in the DAE that you are adding the new disks to?

Hi Kelleg,
1. The Flare version on the array is Release 26 i.e. 3.26.010.5.025
2. Part no of the Disk is :- DG118032513
TLA no. :- 005048597
Clariion model no is :- CX3-10c
3. These 4 disk in the DAE are new disk.

These are 2GB disks - are there any existing disks in the DAE - are they 4GB disks?
glen
PS - on PowerLink if you do a search in the SUPPORT section using the trerm "disk and flare oe matrix" you will find documents for AX, CX, CX3 and CX4 that lists the disk by part number and what flare is needed to support that disk.

Hey, he paid for those high speed electrons, I say keep 'em running at 4Gb.
So you either schedule downtime for the array and all the hosts to reset the bus to 2Gb or return the 2Gb disks and get some 4Gb disks.
This all assumes that the bus speed is the issue. We could be way off

Good change - lets bring the whole BUS from 4GB down to 2GB - don't want those electrons working too hard - they get tired
