if you look in vSphere , is path selection the same for both LUNs ?

no. one lun has 4 active and 4 standby. the other has 2 active and 2 standby. it only happens for this lun.

in the vsi plugin. it shows unknown status

ok I unbinded the lun from the storage group. REscanned all adapters. Then rebinded back to the storage group. then rescanned again. Now it shows the normal 4 active and 4 standby paths. I am not sure what caused it to show 4 dead paths

But in vsi module, it still shows no status.

is your VSI configured to talk directly to the array or to a solutions enabler appliance ?

i have 3 luns that have no info in vsi

any idea on this? any new lun i created on the array will show a status of unknown in vsi

ok i found out that i had to unregister and reregister the array in vcenter and refresh all luns. its now showing up nowthanks

unfortunately i don't have any CX boxes, i have VNX and they show up ok. I would recommend you open a support ticket, VSI is fully supported by EMC so you should be able to get some help.
