Try restarting the management service. Log in to SP-A or SP-B: http://sp-a-ip/setup and restart the management services. No impact at all to data traffic so you can do this at any time.

Okay, Try this,

1. Log in to the CLARiiON /setup (http:// /setup) > "Set Update Parameters > Update Interval (set it to 300 value) and apply the setting.

2. Go to Control Panel  and double-click the Java icon.

3. Go to Java tab and click view.

4. Enter -Xmx128m under Java Runtime Parameter. That increases Java memory to 128 MB.  If the GUI operations are still slow for CLARiiON Management,  set it to -Xmx512m.

Is this the same case with both SP IPs ? Have a look at the domain/domain-master status also.

Ankit,

Thanks for the suggestion. I changed the update interval to 300, restarted the management service and upped the memory in java runtime parameters as you suggested. Unfortunately it's still doing the same thing.

Truly an odd issue.

Thanks Ernes. I was able to get to the setup page and restart the management services, but unfortunately it's still being stupid.

Yes Vipin. I have several systems and have tried using all the popular browsers. It does the same thing no matter what system or browser I use. Except, of course, for the system on the same network.

I'm starting to wonder if it's a NAT issue.

Dynamox,

I've tried using the Navisphere client, and it has the same symptoms.

If you uninstalled all version just install the latest JRE. That should work. Let us know if that works, very curious what the issue is.

When you go to Add/Remove programs, how many Java versions do you have installed on your laptop? If you have multiple uninstall all except for the latest version. Delete the temporary internet files and see if that works. If that doesn't work I have no other ideas besides what's already been recommended. EMC support ticket is the only other option.

Vipin,

Yes, both SP IPs exhibit the same strange behavior.

I am able to right click on the "Local Domain" object and check properties and domain status. I am also able to click on the Hosts and Monitors tab. The Monitors tab even has a folder with a +, however if I click on the + to expand the folder, it just spins and spins.

Domain status is basically:

System

     - shows public IP

Addresses

     -  shows public IP

Active Address

     -  shows public IP

Connection State

     - Normal

Connection Info

     - Port:80 Secure Port:443 Session ID:0

Platform Type

     - Off-Array

Server Version

     - 6.24.0.6.14

Portal

     - No

If I use the kludgy way of running it through a system on the local network it shows the same as above EXCEPT:

- IPs are all private internal IPs

- Platform Type = Array

Thanks Ernes. I'll try your suggestion. I had Dell try to resolve it and they were scratching their heads. I have a 3rd party support contract with a different company now, and the main reason I'm trying to do this is so they don't have a hassle upgrading the FLARE. They suggested that I remove all the versions of java and use the recommended version you get when you connect with no java installed. I tried that but am having trouble getting that version of java. Hopefully they'll be able to still upgrade the FLARE and maybe that will fix the problem.
