powerpath (emcpower)best practice on redhat

I was wondering if anyone can point me to a set of docs that describe installing and configuring emcpower on a redhat linux system.
I have a configuration up and running but am second guessing myself on what is the best practice.
In particular it appears I have both dm_multipath and emcpower installed and running as services and I don't know if I screwed up.

Thanks

Marco

Hello Marco,

take a look at PowerPath installation guide:

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Software ~ P-R ~ Documentation > PowerPath Family > PowerPath > Installation/Configuration

Host Connectivity guides might be useful to you as well:

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Host Connectivity/HBAs > Installation/Configuration

I will suggest to use single Multipathing software instead of using Dynamic Multipath and powerpath together. and also go through the Link proveded by Dynamo

also recommended to resintall the PP once you upgrade the kernel since PP external unlike Multipath . Even though it works most of the time w/o a reinstall
