Powerpath Migration Enabler Host Copy

We currently have a 4 node Windows 2008 cluster with storage on an AX4, we now have a CX4 and would like to migrate the data on the AX4 LUN's to the CX4 using Powerpath Migration Enabler Host Copy.  Is this possible using PPME, are there any limitations if using it on a Windows 2008 cluster?

I have noticed in the PPME documentation that it mentions shutting down all but one nodes within the cluster (MSCS) while performing the migration, but it is a Windows 2008 cluster in node + disk majority mode which means if I can not have all nodes but one down as the cluster will automatically shutdown thereby defeating the object.  Anybody any thoughts or experience?

If you aren't using a "shared copy" cluster configuration, I would tend to think you would not need to shut down any of the cluster nodes.  I would double check to see if the caveat you are seeing is for MSCS shared-disk clusters only (this makes total sense to me that you wouldn't want PPME running against a shared disk).  If it isn't crystal clear in the documentation, I would open a case via powerlink before proceeding.

how did your migration go? i hope this is an active/passive cluster( cluster resource active on one node  at a time, even though LUN are visible all partners).

Do you take any special consideration for quorum disk?

We did not use Powerpath Migration Enabler, we are in the process of using Robocopy and will take a short period of downtime when we complete the migration to the CX4.

In terms of the Quorum disk, as we are using Windows 2008, we are using a disk witness. To migrate the disk witness we will just migrate the cluster to a file share witness and back to disk wtness once we have allocated the new LUN from the CX4 (hopefully that way we will not lose the cluster).  Unless anybody knows of a easier way?
