Yes you can remove the faulted drive and insert a new one . The equalazing from the hot spare will start .

You may check the SP Event log to ensure "rebuild complete" for the replaced drive.

One side note in this context - only for CX series, if drive 4 is replaced, one needs to upload the "recovery image" for that array - however, this is not the case for CX3 or CX4 series where the image repository is also mirrored.

Also, put the yellow lable on the new drive when the rebuild has finished.

Actually, yes - You leave it off and bad things happen  

Like removing disk 1 and then disk 2 but putting disk 1 into slot 2

I'm not sure but I believe that the recovery image is only available to service personnel. This would normally be a service function.

That is correct - receovery images are not generally available software.
