Replace Recovery Disk CX400
Hi,
Drive number 4 ( labeled CX400 Recovery Disk ) failed.
How do I replace this disk. In a former thread someone noticed, that this is a special disk and that I have to reinstall the recovery image.
What should I do ?
A spare drive jumped in. Can simple proceed with replacing the faulted disk ?
Regards
Volker

You can just replace the disk - 0_0_4 only has Vault and Repository. Vault will take care of itself, and the Repository can be added later. The file is the .mif for doing a reimage of the other disks.
the hot spare is replacing any LUNs that you have on the drive, it does not replace the hidden area on 0-0-4 - once the hot spare has replaced the drive, you can replace it.

Hi,
We encounter the same problem before.
DELL just send the replacement disk to us (450GB in size instead of 300GB that is currently running) and ask us to replace the faulty disk. They haven't suggested any extra steps.
Thanks
Tony

You might want to contact them and ask that the Recovery Image needs to be checked - this is not really a big deal, but from a support prespective it's nice to know that the image is available is ever needed.

There is a service procedure - you would need to access the SP from a special tool - you're service people can do this - it requires a reboot on the SP.
