remove all drives, restart management service on SPA/SPB. You can use NST to "guide" you through populating the enclosure or simply insert one drive at a time, let it spin and so it stops flashing and go to the next one.
you restart so there are no artifacts left in Navisphere, sometimes it's stubborn and does not display current array status/configuration. I had to remove 5 drives and replace them with higher capacity, i removed one at a time but that's just me.

why is there a need to restart the management service on both SPs?
Have you used this process in the past? I''m also interested in why its best to remove all the drives first and not one by one.
Thanks for the reply
