Vnx mc² 5300 & 7600 back rev mif file missing

Hello forum team, hope everyone reading this is having a great day!

I got some vnx 5300 and 7600 from a donation, they are in perfect shape BUT were not wiped to factory state before being released. So they are blocked.

Spent a lot of time fiddling and tinkering with the device until I finally discovered a way to get it into a state in which can be restored to factory.

I'm missing the .mif files to move further. Could someone give me a hand finding them so I can finally begin using them?

But first, a few more details:

- I have no Dell support. But I can learn pretty fast.

- I'm alone with this, and i have all the tools required to work with the device. Ranging from a fully fledged electronics lab to the most basic serial cable.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks, unfortunately I don't have good news, to transfer ownership you would need to have the product registration transferred from the previous owners digital locker registration by them.  https://dell.to/3RnJppl;

Generally If the system was not wiped, you can find the mif fiel in the image repository.  let me know if you need any further support.

Hello! Thanks for answering.

As soon as I entered the UP, it deleted a few .mif and .iis files because of being older than the actual version.

So when I went into the image menu, there wasn't anything there.

Figured out the way to know the actual version of the VNX7600 i have here at the lab. It is 05.33.006.5.096. I would really like to have the right .mif file, I don't know if someone could send it to me or what should I do to get it.

Thanks a lot to anyone willing to give me a hand.

Hello Josh, thanks a lot for being here. I'm still unable to see the files at the "Drivers and Downloads" section, even if I'm logged in with my account. Seems that I don't have "something" needed.

Would you mind to give me a hand again?

It would need to be an account with the device attached to it. https://dell.to/3XPhWiq If you click on your profile in the top right of the page and go to my products it will bring you there too.

Do I need to have active support or something? The devices I have were donated to me.

You can try the ownership transfer, https://dell.to/3jijNgI but I am not sure if it will work without knowledge of the previous ownership. If the school has a Dell sales team they may also be able to help.

Yes, it needs an active support contract.

The unit was left at a dump and then donated to a school, and I'm helping them get it up and running for the school's lab.
Do you know how I can get a support license for a product I didn't purchase?

Thanks a lot, I will try that. And no, school doesn't have a Dell sales team.

Sorry Josh, but I'm unable to find the "service tag" of this device. The link you provided to me only accepts service tags and the only ID I have is a Serial number.

Would you be so kind of pointing me towards the right place to find the Service tag or the right place to request the ownership change for this EMC VNX 7600? (I also have a VNX 5300).

thanks in advance

Can you private message me the serial numbers?
