For an explanation of Polling (the Archive Interval), see Support Solution emc148982.
Polling has to do with the number of polls (archive intervals) that must take place before you can create an archive (NAR) file. When you start data logging, you must allow it to collect at least 10 polls before attempting to creat an archive. So if you archive interval is set to 10 minutes, you must allow 10 intervals to pass first - 10 minutes per poll and 10 minimum intervals = 100 minutes. I always recommend that you allow at least 11 intervals to pass first (110 minutes). If you do not allow the 10 polls to pass, the archive that you create will contain the data from the last valid archive created - say the last one. When you look at the archive you just created, it will have the data from the last archive, but the name of the archive will be a new name. See the article, it goes into more detail about this.
