How does the EMC Cloud Portal communicate and execute commands?

The CloudBoost appliance maintains an SSL connection to the Cloud Portal on port 443, and data is exchanged with a REST API. A monitoring service on the appliance publishes the latest system information to the EMC Cloud Portal Console every minute, and the Portal can push configuration changes to the appliance when they have been set of modified.
