Dell SC8000 Drive Replacement

We’re still actively using a Dell SC8000 system and recently had one of our 600GB drives fail. Since the unit is out of warranty, we’ve been unable to find a way to order replacement drives directly through Dell.

Could you please advise whether we can use a third-party replacement drive, or if the replacement must have Dell-specific firmware in order to be recognized by the system?

The failed drive’s model number is HUC109060CSS600.

    Hello,

I would recommend contacting Sales and ask for the Spare Part Department to order your Compellent drive.

You need to specify that it is for Compellent so that it does have the correct firmware to work in Compellent storage system.

They can quote you a drive for purchase.
