Fake a iqn possible?
It is possible to fake a iqn from an exchangeserverstorage? We use dell storage manager and want to know if it possible to fake a iqn with a virtual maschine in the same Storage Lan and give the machine the same iqn as for example our exchange server has. What will be happened if two same iqns are in the same lan? i kann rename the iqn at windows server in iscsi software initiator. We dont use Chap.

On every software initiator i have seen in the last 12 years of dealing with iSCSI the admin was able to specify/override the IQN. Yes the OS make a suggestion for the IQN but you can easily change it you want.
So if you worry about use CHAP(mutal).

Hi,
I do not see a way to change the iqn so you could fake it. Having two with the same that are not in a cluster would cause problems.
