Hello EdwardIPro,

First thing to try; Have you tried power off and reseat the bottom controller and check results?

From the SCv3000 and SCv3020 Storage System Deployment Guide - If you click Troubleshoot Initialization Error to learn how to resolve; What does it show you?

Hello,  Dell -Charles R.

Thanks for the advice. We removed and put back the bottom controller from the chassis several times, it’s all pins - Ok, not bent!  We also removed and put back the RAM boards and flash card with OS (operating system), the controller is still in the state of constant "OS loading" blinking green. How do you think, maybe Flash card with OS can be damaged?  Is there any other way to diagnose the controller?

Thanks.

Hello, Dell -Charles R.

After going to the link you requested "Troubleshoot Initialization Error", I get - when going to https://www.dell.com/storagehelp/dellstorageclient/18.1.20/ -

403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

Is there any other way to diagnose the controller?

Thanks.

you can contact with the bottom controller with a console cable, then let us know the boot log.

Hello, Dell -Charles R.

After Reset a Controller to Factory Default,

we cannot initialize SCv3000. I want to read detailed bottom controller logs, but I don't know what software to use for this. On the advice of tianchou, we can connect to the controller, but we do not see the logs. Advise software please.

Thanks.

Hello EdwardIPro,

Maybe this link will work. Just wanted to see the results if you went through the process again.

Hello EdwardIPro,

Was everything working before the reset?

What required the need to Reset Storage Center to Factory Defaults?

Were both controllers joined when the system purge was ran?

Can you run a Support Assist report and let me know when it is uploaded?

Dell Storage SC – How to send SupportAssist and enable Secure Console

Once it is uploaded please Private Message me the service tag so I can retrieve the report.

Hello, Dell -Charles R

>Was everything working before the reset?

No, started reconnecting servers via iSCSI.

>What required the need to Reset Storage Center to Factory Defaults?

Some Virtual Ports have moved to the top controller. Even after rebooting the SC, some servers still did not connect via iSCSI.

Bottom controller did not exit from shutdown.

>Were both controllers joined when the system purge was ran?

Yes, both were in SCv3000, but bottom controller was in shutdown.

>Can you run a Support Assist report and let me know when it is uploaded?

In order to run the report, i need to initialize the SC, but it does not initialize without two detected controllers, after removing all disks from the SC now and the top controller is now not detected as well as the bottom - Slow blinking green (2s on, 1s off).

It seems to me that the hardware is in good condition, and the controller is in a state of endless loop. How to see the initialization log?

Thanks.

EdwardIPro,

What I suggest is that you call in to support, as some of the steps taken were outside of the steps needed to initalize both controllers, and have it in a situation that they will need to work with you directly on in order to get the issue resolved.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello, Dell -Chris H.

Thanks for the advice! But I can't contact support because at the beginning of 2022, my SC -

Support service status - Issue with Support Services - Warranty Expired!

I have the top controller available and ready to initialize, but the bottom one is not available. Tell me how to read the SC logs. Thanks.

Hello EdwardIPro,

As Chris was recommending,  you would need to call in to support.  There are steps to be performed by escalation personnel only during a remote session.  The forum is not designed for remote sessions and you need to work directly with the Engineer.

When you call in, you can ask about renewing the warranty or ask about a Post Standard Support contract to work on this issue.
