Moving data from EqualLogic to Compellent

Hello. I have an environment with two solaris 10 m4000 servers running oracle 9i in non-global zones.
The current storage is EqualLogic, but due to limitations in the solaris iscsi initiator the performance is below business requirements.
So, we now have Compellent connected with 8Gb FC. Very fast, good results in tests.

The problem now is  moving the data from the EqualLogic to Compellent.
I don't want to use thin-import tool as I want to split the data from the current luns into smaller, more manageable, and more replay friendly chunks.

I've been looking at using rsync, log shipping, and cpio... but these all have limitations in either system utilization, network utilization, or speed is too slow to finish in any available service window.

Has anyone had any experience with something similar to this? Suggestions? Guesses?

Thank you!
