Changing VSAN domain id
Hello All,
I'm stuck -Well brain stuck on trying to move certain zones out of a zoneset(VSAN 100). I have NAS and a backup tape solution sharing a VSAN with a DMX 3 and I wanted to place those zones into a new VSAN with the least or I can say the quickest way possible. I have zone aliases that already are part of that VSAN for these zones and did not want to lose any of that info when doing that move into that new VSAN id.
What if "any" would be a good way of doing this-- --Really I can't sort this out..
Thanks---

The second way would be to take the switch configuration save it to a file, modify it to the way you want the VSANs to look and copy it back to the switch. This of course can have issues especially if there are any mistakes in the configuration you create.
The third way would be through ECC where you can copy and edit the configuration you need and finally send it to the switch when it is done. If you are good with ECC, this might be your easiest way.
Please keep in mind that either ways could cause you problems if not done correctly. You may want to engage your local EMC Support people to investigate the best way for your particular configuration to be updated.
Thank you.

Thanks, so much for replying and taking me out of this brain freeze(Fear). You really gave me some really good options to use -- I haven't had any luck on my own bringing FM up on my laptop(For another day) but , I'm using SAN OS 3.1(3a)
I'm going to try what you suggested about trying this in our lab- we just got after a
Fibre switch upgrade a Cisco 9140 - I'm going to try all the scenarios you mentioned and see what works. I really got some good stuff here to use from your reply- I needed that.. I could not pan this out---
I'll also see what the local CE for my site has to say also about this..
I'll post my output once I get this going--
Much Thanks---
