Conectrix EMC ED48000B

We are about to deploy the 48k in our enviorment.Can anybody explain the proper fa ,host layout.We have 48 port blades.One engineer wants all common fa's and host on the same asic so it does not hit the backplane.I am for putting on opposite blades for better performance.Whats the best for performance and redundancy.
