Configuration scenario for DS-6610B-L is valid or not?
My question was about the ISL connection over the WAN. Perhaps I did not clarify this sufficiently during our meeting.
> (Screen shot1) is the AS-IS diagram of this environment:
The long distance ISL connection over WAN between the SAN Switches at both location is over a 2G Telekom line and this enabled the storage arrays at Frankfurt location to replicate data to the storage array at Offenbach location.
> (Screen shot2) is the proposed TO-BE diagram with new switches:
As the new switches (DS6610) do not support 2G speed, can we continue to use the old switches (DS300B) for long distance ISL over WAN ? and at the same time use the new SAN switches (DS6100B) as primary switches for storage, server and tape connections?
Since the Telekom line is 2G and does not support 4G or above speed at the moment, we will upgrade this line to 8G speed later this year and after that line migration we will remove the old switches from the fabric and do the LD ISL via the New SAN switches. I wanted to check if this design is possible? So this is a temporary design until we finish the DR replication line upgrade with telekom vendor.

Hello Ayman_Hassan,
Did you meet with Dell professional services about your install, when you stated that you asked this question during your meeting?
