Discards and Errors | MDS 9513

Question

hey all ,     I'm seeing a lot of discards and errors on our mds9513 . We are running  at NX - 5.2.2 (yeah we are due for an upgrade ) . how do I figure out which port is it with these high  discards ,  what commads do I use . I do a  #show interface |inc errors  (this one is to just quickly check the number of errors and discards ) CISCO -9513-MDS1# show interface |inc errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors        1396 discards, 1265 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors         0 discards, 0 errors help me figure out the port number here please , I cant seem to figure it out . Also what troubleshooting is to be done before I clear the counters on the port ? Regards AE

closer ? sh interface | egrep fc|errors

'sh int counters' i would start with replacing SFP, then move on to cables, patch panel, HBA.

Im unable to figure out the port which has a high discard count ,

CISCO -9513-MDS1# show interface | grep errors

0 discards, 0 errors

1396 discards, 1265 errors --- Im not sure how to figure out which port this is .

0 discards, 0 errors

sh interface counters I dont get any results , but helps me check a port at a time .
