Issue updating Fabric

Hi All,

We have a pair of ds200b's. They have been running fine not a problem in the world.

My problem is when trying to a new zone for a new server, both switches are comming back with the message

"Failed to commit change to Fabric"

At first I thought this could be a issue with us being lazy and leaving our old config's, so I tried to remove some of the configs and got the same error. I had a look at the logs. Nothing was mentioned any where,

I had a look in the EMC support area and I'm about to check if there are any conlficting transactions.

Just wondering if any one else has experinced this issue?

Cheers
John

It sounds a bit scary, but one out of every 10 "enables" (activate) gave me a similar output. I simply do it again and it works fine. Did you try that already ?

Hi RRR,

Yeap tried that, it is occuring on both switches which is worring me a bit.

I have found that I can create alias, Zones via the CLI. I have not yet created a new cfg as that is going to take a bit of typing, as I can not find a way to copy for clone via the cli.

For a while I thought it was browser issue however I have deployed one of our base MOE builds which worked previously, no joy. Also I doubt it is a java cache issue as the java console is not showing any errors.

Just a odd update.

For no apparent reason that I can see, both switches have started working. All of my testing as been on one switch I have not done a thing to the other one. Both are now accepting changes via the zone administrator.

I wen through the errdump and fabric logs..nothing listed in there about any errors past or present. Got me stumped.

Cheers
