Customer Service Is The Worst
I have purchased many Dell products over the past 10 years. I have an XPS, 3 Inspiron laptops and a 2 Dell 2950 servers and a Dell tower server. Yesterday I purchased my first non computer product from Dell and it was a Vizio 42" TV. Got an email from Brad Deals and the price was pretty good. My mistake was not doing a more through search for the TV because after I placed my order I found it at Costco for about 25.00 dollars cheaper. Now mind you the TV came with free shipping and wasn't coming until the end of next week. When I called Dell about the price difference they told me that they do not do price match and the only thing they do is offer a price watch on their own price for 30 days. When I called Dell they told me that they could offer me next business day shipping and I accepted it well that only lessend the delivery by on day. To me that was not a perk. I then called back to cancel the order and just figured since Costco has 30 of them in stock I would drive the 20 minutes and go pick it up. Well the Dell customer service rep at first said I could offer you a 25 then a 50 dollar gift card and I said no because I can get the TV now. Well here is where it gets interesting. Once the customer support rep checked the order she says well I can't offer you the gift card until after you accept the TV and sign into the account and check that I will keep the product. Now I know why she says this, at that point I said forget it, the oder is still processing just cancel it. The rep tells me she can't becasue the information has been now sent to the vendor. Lot's of run around on the phone with them. My business with Dell is over. The customers I support for a living I will recommend to them that they purchase HP servers. I just can't belive such a large company such as Dell who is buying up companies like Quest Software can't even do small things like price match!!! My formal complaint will be filed against Dell - I found this on the FTC website - I highlighted my issue in RED. My order still says processing!!!! This is CRAZY....! http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02 ... ndise-rule When You Must Cancel an Order You must cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when: the customer exercises any option to cancel before you ship the merchandise •the customer does not respond to your first notice of a definite revised shipment date of 30 days or less and you have not shipped the merchandise or received the customer’s consent to a further delay by the definite revised shipment date; •the customer does not respond to your notice of a definite revised shipment date of more than 30 days (or your notice that you are unable to provide a definite revised shipment date) and you have not shipped the merchandise within 30 days of the original shipment date; •the customer consents to a definite delay and you have not shipped or obtained the customer’s consent to any additional delay by the shipment time the customer consented to; •you have not shipped or provided the required delay or renewed option notices on time; or •you determine that you will never be able to ship the merchandise. Note to Dell, just because you go over seas for cheap labor and training them to kill customers with kindness doesnt make the service better. You are still a US based company and ther are regulated rules you must follow.

This is highly unacceptable along with false and misleading information. Not only has Dell misrepresented an offer the customer service rep lied just to keep my money! I can assure you this will be added to my FTC complaint.
As far as you looking further into this matter I am not providing my personal information on an open blog. I am sure if you are truly a Dell representative you have a direct office line where I can reach you. Please provide that number and I will call.
