As an update, they messaged me and said that the expected delivery date will now be 8/8, another 2 day delay. I will share additional updates as I receive them, though I'm probably going to just cancel my order
They're marking this as solved, but it hasn't been. I'm getting conflicted responses -- that it's a part shortage (thought they also said it was fully built), and that there's an issue with the order status not updating. What a mess.
Keeping the updates active, after being told that the laptop was shipped on 7/30 and a tracking label was created, I just received a notification that this is going to be delayed again, until 8/13.
At this point I'm going to just cancel my order, it's not worth all the delays and poor support.

I'm in the same bot, I ordered on July 9th and delayed for another month, i am told the parts delayed.
If the parts are delayed why orders are taking, if parts not available hold selling until backlog cleared.
Customers are not looking for estimated dates. Customers are looking the product should be in hand as promised dates, as we are all know COVID-19 changed the things all over the world.
I'm in essentially the same boat. Nearly four thousand dollar order, and it's now been delayed three times. Part of the reason I purchased it instead of a Razer was because with expedited shipping and handling (which I also paid extra for) I would get it at the end of July. The new tentative date is at the end of August, and I have no reason to believe it won't be delayed again. Additionally, customer service is largely useless and basically nobody knows what is going on at any level. If I knew this would be the case I would not have ordered from Dell. Really wishing I'd gone with the Razer device. Had a buddy of mine order a slightly lower end Razer in June and it arrived two weeks after ordering. This will probably be my last Dell product.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered June 20th, with a ship date of August 2nd. They pushed it back to September on August 3rd.
Dell reps are quick to say "part shortage", yet their competitors HP, Apple, Asus, Razer etc are all able to ship as soon as they receive the order.
I will also be cancelling my order.
