Dell provided number to McAfee

I've tried to call Dell customer service and provide this information but the service reps get confused.  My current Dell computer was having issues and the Current extended warranty & McAfee security, which was initially bought through dell, was expiring soon.  So I had contacted dell & a dell sales rep assisted with that dell warranty extension, but the sales rep said I would need to contact McAfee myself because that was 3rd party software. The Dell sales rep provided me McAfee number to call 877-271-5529 by email.  I used that number to call what I believed was McAfee and by this time Dell had sent me a system exchange due to all the major components being changed out so was trying to switch the license to the new system.  The phone rep remote desktop to the computer then began telling me I had a virus and opened my broswser to wiki to show me the info on the virus & wanted to remote in another tech to fix. I was uncomfortable & ended the remote access and call. I did a search for McAfee & called a different number. McAffe phone rep told me the number given by Dell was a scam number. I called Dell CS line & try to explain and re-explain after 5 different department transfers that Dell is providing an incorrect phone number for McAfee.   I was told this would be "escalated" up but each time Dell CS reps thought someone called me. NO DELL gave ME this number 877-271-5529 TO McAfee!!  Please all I'm asking is to check because I wouldn't want someone to go through what I had to today.
