Dell Verification Nightmare (attempt 2)
This is my second attempt to post this topic. The first was marked as spam.
I purchased a computer yesterday during Dell's black friday sale and all seemed well. I recieved a call at 9AM this morning from 1-800-456-3355 (or at least a caller with that name) - they asked for my "work email" and refused to accept the email I used to actually order my computer, then stated they needed credit card info even though I purchased the computer with PayPal. Upon requesting more info, they mumbled for 10 seconds and asked for my work email again. When I tried to google what a "work email" meant from dell, they hung up on me.
about 5 minutes later they called back and again asked for the Work E-Mail, providing the wrong order number - which made me suspect it might be for a different order I previously tried to make, which ALSO got cancelled because of a bad verification call - so I told them to cancel the order IF it was NOT made on 11/23/2018. They told me it was made on that day and that they would cancel it - so I explicitly told them NOT to cancel it and that I would get their work email. Attempting to get it, they again hung up on me.
They have not called back since. I could not call dell to correct the information because your verification department is unreachable on saturday and so this person cancelled the order. I also could not call back the number that called me for the same reason.
This has been an absolute nightmare to try and deal with as the number is directly on dell's website but an equal amount of people have been calling it a scam and official. On one instance of another verification number, 1-800-571-3355, I noticed the forum moderator dell-robert-p stated the SAME NUMBER was both the official number and a scam they were "working to shut down" in two different posts.
Needless to say, i am FURIOUS that this was a legitimate call that ended in cancellation when I explicitly told the employee "DO NOT CANCEL THIS ORDER", and the fact that I cannot contact dell until monday, when the black friday sale is over, means I can NOT reorder my computer for the same price in time because Dell still has the money for the Monitor.
PLEASE, *PLEASE* respond and give me the correct person to contact to complete my order *FOR THE SAME DISCOUNTED PRICE.*. This is the third time I have tried to order a computer from Dell Outlet in the past month, and the service I've received is unbelievably awful.
