Dell, Why?

My warranty expires this month, but I have been reporting this same issue for nearly 11 months. Each time I contacted Dell, I was told the performance issues were “normal,” despite repeated failures on a thousand-dollar system.

I have third-party documentation from Best Buy confirming that the issue is a motherboard defect. Even if Dell does not want to recognize this as a factory defect (which it clearly is), no premium laptop’s motherboard should fail in under a year of normal.

What model system, and what's the specific issue?

@ejn63 I’ve got a an Dell G15 5530, I’ve been having performance issues since purchase, at first it was just off the plug but nowadays the performance drops even while Plugged in,

At first I contacted Dell, they sweared up and down it was a “software issue” but I did the rundowns with and without them, from updating bios, resetting the computer, Reseting to factory settings, updating drivers etc etc, but the issue remained I took it to Best Buy’s geek squad and gave it to them for “battery issues” because i assumed so and they diagnosed it with motherboard issues, so once again I go to Dell, and tell them, I send it over and they claim MY issue isn’t covered by warranty when it came like this?? The Rep said “Motherboard issues are covered” but I got this message:

“The Dell repair technician has diagnosed your system. The recommended repairs are not covered by your warranty. We’ll contact you in the next four working hours to discuss your options.”

and I’m worried that my warranty will expire and this issue will be prolonged further than the 11 months I’ve been dealing with it!

Is there any physical damage or alteration to the system?

Cosmetic only,

Yes I have upgraded the Ram before because of the performance issues but as I said before I’ve had drops in performance since purchase.
