DUSB, what is it?

I worked with a Dell agent online last night to help me create a USB to save original factory settings in case i ever need to reload the Windows 8 operating system. After hours of formatting the USB stick i have, it still wouldnt work. She said she would send a "DUSB"....what is a "DUSB"? Today I got an email saying i was being sent "replacement parts". I thought a DUSB was just a USB stick with the OS loaded on it for me to keep and use if necessary to reset my computer to factory settings.

aboga,

I think it means Dell USB operating system key. Did the email mention a 5 digit part number?

You will not need to return anything. The email uses a "macro" that they should have edited.

"macro" meaning a general reply email?

No, there is no 5 digit part number.

Last night she connected remotely, and said if she couldn't create a factory recovery with MY USB, she would just send a DUSB. I assumed it meant what you are suggesting....Dell USB operating system key.

However, I got an email today saying they were sending "replacement parts and I need to return the defective parts". I can't see where i have anything defective to return. I thought maybe I didn't really understand what a DUSB was.

I am going to try contacting someone today to find out.

Thank you for your answer.
