Faulty AC adapter, worst customer service
i bought a dell inspiron laptop in August 2018. In two years the AC adapter stopped working so I bought a new one online through Dell. It took about a month to arrive and shipping was about 9 dollars for a tiny package. This new AC adapter stopped working in a few months. The light on the adapter isn't coming on. When I try to plug it into a different socket the light still isn't working. In two days I have spoken close to 10 customer service representatives. Most were nice but I was continuously transferred from one representative to another. They didn't have a history of my purchase on my Dell account, as well as a service tag. Luckily, I have proof of the transaction on my PayPal account. The last person I spoke to said I needed to pay to send my laptop to their diagnostics center to make sure the adapter isn't working due to the laptop. After spending 50 dollars for a bad AC adapter, they want me to spend another 40 to mail in my laptop! As if i would trust them. Why can't I just send back the bad AC adapter so they can see it is faulty? Ii even took the AC adapter to Best Buy to have it checked out and the geek squad employee also believes it to be a faulty product. I will do my best to avoid ever buying another Dell product. I was going to purchase an Alienware Aurora for my son this Christmas but we have decided on another desktop gaming device. With all this time wasted on trying to get a replacement for a small, faulty product, I can only imagine how much worse it would be for a more expensive investment.
Update Thursday October 8 = An order was setup replace the AC adapter.
