I made a complaint to the person I spoke to at “tech support”, did he register the compliant as I asked at the time?
Now on checking - states case completed!
It is regarding the issue of the power adaptor, and/or ports that are not functioning correctly – not consistently recognising the power adaptor, and not working at all on right hand side port (noting that on plugging in a memory USB device on the right-hand side there is no issue).
The “Tech person” on seeing a photo just stated “it is “wear and tear”, so not covered under warranty!
I have used this laptop, purchased from yourselves, for the most part at home over the last 1.75 years and have been abroad for a total of 3 weeks in this time with the laptop carried in a dell protective case.
I find it incredible that Dell’s first answer is “wear and tear” –
I have not ever had this problem with all of my other Dell products.
I have been buying premium laptops for myself and family from Dell for over 10 years – I expect to purchase a laptop that functions as expected – I do not expect that plugging in and removing the charger causes “wear and tear” to the point that the connection has failed after 1.75 years. If, as was stated, by the “tech support guy”, that is “wear and tear” after this short period of time, I would put the case that maybe the laptop was not fit for purpose.
I wish to escalate this compliant, as I am not satisfied with the response to my issue, which was simply an email with a cost of £342.90, and leaves me very unsatisfied.
