Incorrect invoice address, Dell won't correct
Hi, when ordering I wasn't offered the opportunity to provide a 'home' address, and on my Dell invoice my delivery address (which my work company and address) shows in the 'Invoice to' address. I'm concerned this will cause later ownership and/or warranty issues. I've contacted Dell and been told "audit" reasons mean they cannot change invoices. It should surely be possible to cancel and reissue an invoice?

powermad,
Try submitting the address change using this form.

Thanks for the suggestion Zb1. I don't think that will solve my root problem alas: the original invoice will still show my company, all that'll do is show I then tried to transfer it to myself! Possibly more suspicious!! What I expect is the invoice to be reissued with the correct details. As it stands the invoice is not valid for my tax purposes, and is wrong.

:emotion-7: Lorna is not accepting PMs due to workload, but a nice idea. Do you have any other contacts?

* I do not think it is possible to issue another invoice with different information on it without cancelling the order and starting over. Perhaps I am wrong. You need to escalate to a Customer Care Order Support manager and ask. Try using this form. I realize it says Technical Support, but once you submit it, hopefully they can direct it to Care.

Thanks Chris. I found a similar page here www.dell.com/.../careforms. I'll see what comes of it and update here.

An update. I got a reply from customer support which repeated the line "Sorry to inform you that we are not able to amend details from Tax Invoice" with the same reasons. No indication of any willingness to solve the problem. I replied asking it be escalated.
As background, this was an order from the DFO. The purchase was conducted via email/phone, not through any form or template. The only address I was asked for was the delivery address, with a recommendation this be a work address so someone could be there for delivery.

Heard back from Dell. Apparently a Dell invoice is a document set in stone, that once generated can never, ever be replaced or amended. Such documents by inference must therefore either be a) always right or b) Dell must exist in a parallel universe where the truth can be distorted to match the 'facts' on their invoices.
Well Dell uses people, so (a) is not true. In my case point (b) in Dell's universe means I've paid for a laptop that belongs to my employer. I'm sure the Tax Office will understand the Dell parallel universe if I'm fortunate to be audited (Murphy's Law holds in even the Dell parallel universe...).
Not to worry: the Dell rep, moonlighting as a tax expert obviously, tells me to claim on tax only my name needs to be shown on an invoice. He also helpfully tells me I can contact Dell to clarify ownership if necessary. Yeah right. Its taken how long to get this level of "help" from Dell, and exactly what would Dell be able to provide: they only know my work address, thats all they asked for, and thats what they've recorded as the owner address!! What would they say???
I am trying to proactively avoid an issue here. The Dell rep acknowledged they did not ask for an invoice to address in the order but refuses to do anything.
Any ideas, or do I just give up and take my chances?

Well, its got to the point Dell won't even acknowledge my dissatisfaction as per their 'Customer Charter'. I've used the form at support.ap.dell.com/.../outstanding_issues on three occasions now, without even a courtesy response.
Any Dell reps have advice?
