Is ProSupport a Gimmick?

I have encountered a litany of issues with ProSupport. Not only are the timeframes listed in the warranty not met, the time that it does take grossly exceeds what would be expected under any support circumstances (i.e. basic warranty, no warranty, etc.).

The sticky on this forum regarding warranty support and replacement also sets a tone. However, it actually carries over from the terms of the warranty. Dell wrote its warranty to state that it can simply cancel the warranty without obligation or refund of the amount paid for said warranty, should it find that your device is not as reliable as comparable dell devices.

My device has gone back multiple times, through sheer persistence on my part (despite openly acknowledged critical issues -labeled as a critical support ticket) and weeks of delays on Dell's.

Dell's case manager's do not respond in a timely manner (1-2 times per week if you are lucky) and they do not respond to the content of your email. You are lucky to get a pre-written form email that applies, in some loose way, to your issue(s).

At this point, it appears that my issues are related to Dell drivers. Which one? Who knows. Did Dell have a tech on-site in one business day or less to resolve this? Of course not!

So, is ProSupport a gimmick or something worse?
