Misleading Shipment Information

Could Dell look into the information for shipment during the purchase process? Because it is very misleading.

Ordered an Alienware 17 R3 (self-configured) on 15th. And it says ships in 2-3 business days. I somehow misunderstood it as the estimated time for receiving the item. But realized it during check out that ETA is different and "2-3 business days" is simply when it will be shipped out. The ETA is by 29th, which is still fine. However, I received another email yesterday, explaining that ETA refers to the time of the item arrive at their sorting centre in Europe, not my home. I was like ?????? seriously? So when should I expect to receive my laptop? Will need it for work and certainly need to arrange my timetable in order to receive the parcel from courier. I simply hope it will arrive before November since I might be on a business trip by then.

If anyone has ordered Alienware recently, could you please share your timeline of the shipment? It would be very helpful, as a reference, for me to adjust my timetable etc.

But again, can Dell ever improves the accuracy of information regarding delivery/shipping for the customers before they place an order?? I feel somehow cheated.

Hi,

I'm sorry to know about your order.

Once the order is placed, depending on the availability for parts, logistics, the product progresses various stages.
The estimation date is calculated based on the time it would take to procure parts, assemble, build, and shiiped.

Could you provide the Order # and the registered owner's name via direct message? I'll have it checked right away.

I'm wondering; I get an email that my replacement Alienware has been shipped.  I go online and there the status says it's still being built.  What should I believe?
