Not happy with Dell
I'm impressed with the number of things Dell has been able to get wrong or utterly fail in supporting!
I placed an order June 5th for an Alienware laptop with an expected delivery date of June 20th. You ship me a backpack on June 6th, which apparently was bundled with my purchase, but email on June 16th to tell me the laptop will be delayed until the end of August. So, it went for a 2 week delivery to a 7 week delivery. I cancelled the laptop order and returned the backpack June 17th using the UPS call tag you provided. I placed a new order for an Alienware desktop, instead (and purchased an HP laptop from Bestbuy). You never credited the return of the backpack to my account, However on July 12th you charged me a late fee for it and started collection calls. It's been 5 weeks, I've provide the tracking number, uploaded images of the call tag receipt, but still you have not credited my account.
July 18th I received the desktop unit. That is when I found out that you never credited me for the backpack return. I spent hours on hold trying to resolve the erroneous past due balance. You credit me for the late fee but not the return and told me someone will contact me about the return – that never happened.
I spend hours on hold trying to get help with changing the version of MS Office I purchased with the desktop. Even online chat support said it would be over an hour wait. I wind up sending a support request via email. You send an email back 3 days later suggesting I pay you $99 for a support call. It's not a software support request, it's a sales support request! Why should I pay $99 for a support call? What does the Premium Support Plus plan that I am paying for cover?
I sent the desktop unit back. That should bring my account back to $zero. However, I suspect you will fail to process that return, too.
I will never do business with Dell again. You got me so angry, that I will recommend to my employer to cancel everything on our business account including the new server we ordered, workstations, and the migration services. HP, here I come!
