Ownership Transfer Problem

Question

I have purchased a Dell Latitude 5440 from a Ebay reseller. I have checked on the support site and it has until 2028. I have tried to transfer the ownership and warranty but it has been rejected as I do not have the previous owners details. I contacted the reseller but they buy in bulk from companies in bulk, wipe all data and sell on, they don't have the previous owners details either.

I have proof I purchased it from them and just need help to transfer ownership, it really shouldn't be this difficult. Please help.

Without access to that information, you have no warranty at all - if you're not comfortable with that, return the system to the seller for a refund.
