Question on current Advantage Rewards process
I am confused on the current Advantage rewards process and hope someone can clear it up for me. I placed an order during the presidents sale for an Alienware PC and financed through Dell Financial as there was a 12% rewards offer. My PC is set to be delivered today. I have been a rewards member since 2014 but normally buy through the outlet so this is my first time getting rewards.
I am not clear on how the process works and how to know if I am actually going to receive my awards. I have read older stories on this forum about the process being convoluted and easy to screw up. Those older posts said that you had to click a button or checkbox during checkout to activate your rewards for that purchase and then you would see a small (10 cent) additional item in your cart or invoice that meant the rewards had been applied to that order. They also said you would receive an email about the rewards shortly after checking out. I didn't see any button or checkbox related to rewards when I checked out. There was no email nor extra charge on my order/invoice as has been mentioned previously in this forum. I also don't have anything showing in the pending awards section of my account. So I don't know if the process has changed or I messed something up.
I have spoken to two support people and gotten different answers. One told me they had no way to tell if I would get them or not. The other said he could see in some internal Dell system that I would get them. When I questioned him as to the system said I was registered to get rewards or was actually going to get them for this order he didn't have a good answer.
So can anyone tell me how the rewards process works today? Is there any way to know if you are going to get your rewards before that 20-30 business days are up?
Thanks for any help!
