Update: Aurora R13 Delay Cause

Yes. I got the same response from Dell Cares agent. They gave me a part number that equated to packing materials. They didn't mention packing peanuts, which is odd, because I haven't seen any of that material in the Utube R13 or other model unpacking videos.

To be fair it was packing peanuts and the plastic/styrofoam used to “protect the unit in transit”

That is just too funny. 

I saw this thread before I opened my R10 that just arrived today. 

I took a picture of the box.

The only packaging was the foam.

On the bright side you got January 2022, I got March 2022 lol. I thought it might be the silicon shortage, or something of that realm.

I hate to say it, but mine also "went into production" yesterday. Either Dell received a massive shipment of the parts they clearly don't have or they changed all of our statuses arbitrarily lol I'll let you decide which scenario you think is more likely at this point. 

Well, I ordered 11/14 with an estimated shipping date of 12/15. After a few chats with different reps, my status **finally** updated to the ever-reliable In Production yesterday. Strangely, the estimated shipping date still says 12/15 -- yes, today -- with an anticipated delivery date of -- get this -- 12/16. 

After perusing the forums, I know with absolute certainty that, now, a deficient supply of packing peanuts means I probably won't see my Aurora R13 until early 2023. 

If the status doesn't update by EOD, and depending on the outcome of the update -- if it actually happens -- imma hop over to Origin PC or something. They've got ready-to-ship models that'll make it here sooner. Oy.
