Using laptop with less configuration than what i ordered

I bought a dell laptop with the configuration as 6GB ram with 500GB, I5 processor touch laptop in the month of Dec 2013. I had issues with screen resolution and sent it for service in the month of Feb 2014. Technical support team reset the settings and said that there is no issues in hardware and they returned it back. I also didn't face any distortion in the screen after that. Later in the month of August 2014 i noticed that my laptop RAM size is only 3GB(2+1) instead of 6GB(2+4). Immediately i contacted the team saying that the RAM was 6gb when i bought and i told during service they might have replaced with the less configuration. Customer service didnt accept it and they asked me to open the backslot and see the configuration written on the RAM and it was only 3GB. Once it is confirmed they are saying when I bought the system itself it must have been 3gb. They are ready to replace a 1gb RAM with 4gb ram. I went for vacation to India, so stopped these conversation for a while. Now i am back and when ever i see my laptop, i feel that i am using a less configuration system for almost 10 months. Dropped the service team saying that i am back.

 I am sure that, the laptop was not opened when it was with me until i noticed the less configuration. I am expecting the right compensation from the Service center for my issue. Either my laptop should be replaced with the new one, or expecting my money back in replacement of this laptop.

I feel the mistake on my side was not checking the laptop configuration when it came form service or when i bought the laptop trusting Dell wont do these kind of things.
