DATA DOMAIN SITE TO SITE REPLICATION
hi all,
i have a problem in replication of my data from data domain 1 (onsite) to data domain 2 (offsite).
my connection from onsite to offsite is through VPN FIREWALL with the speed of 10 mbps in both site and my backup size is around
150 GB per day and cannot finish pre-comp within the day
my question is:
1. when upgrading bandwidth, how much speed?
2. should i use wan accelerator (third party like riverbed)?
thanks,
Gerald Dela Cerna

Hi there,
Just want to pick up on point 2 first, do not use riverbed for WAN acceleration - Data Domain with already deduplicated data traffic will not like this.
For point 1, it really depends on what kind of deduplication ratio you are getting, replication type, latency etc... It will probably generate many different opinions here and without enough understanding of your environment and sizing already by your EMC sales team - may give you the wrong answer via this forum.
Cheers, Jonathan

hi sir jonathan,
thanks for the reply,
i just want to confirm this question. if my ONSITE will replicate data
to the OFFSITE, so my ONSITE will depend on internet upload right? and
my OFFSITE will depend on its internet download right?
thanks,
Gerald
